12 Weeks 1 Day

I think I'm getting a little something. My next doctors appointment is June 4. According to my scale I haven't gained anything but I guess we'll see. With Grace I gained weight like crazy so I'm hoping this time will be better. Tiredness is getting somewhat better, which is good since everyone is coming. . .and Grace still claims its a girl named Pinky.

I couldn't stop. . .

LAUGHING! It was so funny! We went to Grant's Farm today and they have an area to feed the baby goats milk. Last time we went there goats were basically being force feed by the millions of kids but this time there were more goats then kids. . .we were attacked. As soon as we walked in the goats jumped on us, literally. Grace was laughing and yelling help, then she would run around with her bottle in the air trying to get them to go away. . .of course she had a pack chasing her. When she finally did start feeding them she would yell at them "ONE AT A TIME! ONE AT A TIME!" It was so funny. Then the goats decided if they couldn't have the bottle they would eat our clothes. They would tug on anything they could get a hold of and then we would have to rip it out of their mouths. I think my Mom had to pull the string on her pants out of a baby goats throat. They were crazy! Obie decided he liked the dirt on the ground better the goats so he played with that. After fighting for our lives we finally got out of the goat area and saw some calmer animals. . .tortoises, parrots, elephants, and horses. We weren't there for too long but it was nice to get out of the house and have a good laugh.

Fun Times

So my Mom has been here for a week. Last weekend we played. . .and then during the week it was constant work for both Mike and I. Day camp starts next week, which I'm pretty much in charge of, and Mike has been trying to get some big project done for testing or something for next week too. Its been crazy. My Mom has been staying home with the kids and entertaining them. They had big plans to walk to main street for ice cream and visit all the playgrounds but the weather hasn't really been cooperating...anyways last weekend Grace got her first board game, Candyland. She was really into it and seems to win every time. I'm not sure if Nana is being nice or if she is just a skilled Candyland player. . .we also found a hula skirt at Walmart. . .I think Grace loved it a little too much.

12 Weeks

Today marks 12 weeks. I attempted to take a few pictures but was unsuccessful. . .they are pretty much awful, so I'll try again tomorrow. I'm starting to feel better. . .not so tired, smells not so bad and food a little more yummy. Alright, well hopefully tomorrow I'll have some picutres, so until then. . .

We'll be missing. . .

Just so you know we might be gone for awhile or we might not. Family is starting to trickle in to town tonight and I'm not sure how busy we are going to be. We have a trip to NC planned and everyone will be here until June 22. . .so we'll see how things go. Day Camp is also getting ready to start in a week, which is my busiest time. So, with all that said just wanted to give you a heads up that we might be missing. . .

Day At the Pool. . .

well a small pool, in our back yard, along with a sprinkler. They weren't so sure about the whole thing. I didn't warn them before I turned it on, so they got a little surprise. Of course they were both standing there looking at the frog that the water sprays out of. . .Surprise Surprise! It was pretty entertaining. Anyways, it kept up busy for a little over an hour, and we were out of the house which was good.

I flipped the switch. . .

Heat rises and our upstairs is boiling hot. I feel bad every day at nap time laying the poor little babies in their beds. Its warm but I try to justify it by saying they are going to be asleep and relaxed, not running around so it won't feel too hot to them. . .well, when I get them from their naps their hair is curly, wet and stuck to their faces. Their clothes are slightly damp and their cheeks are pink. Today I gave it. . .I turned on the air conditioning at nap time. I'm not sure what it feels like up their but I hope they are cooler. . . their pink little cheeks are so cute but I figured it was time. I flipped the switch.

Pee Pee Cup #4

Grace finished her antibiotics on Monday so today we went in for her to be retested and make sure everything was cleared up. . .it wasn't. They said it looked like she still had some of the infection and if she did go on a different type of antibiotic it would come back. . .OK. Makes since. Well they gave her a new prescription, along with two samples and a $40 coupon. . .which I thought was weird. If the coupon was for $40 how much was this medicine going to cost. Well we take it in, get it filled and the lady said it was $30. . .wow. . .$30. We never have prescriptions or go to the pharmacy but I felt like 10 days of medicine and $30 was a lot. When I actually paid, I was charged $10. Not so bad. I can handle that. . .well when I started looking at the bag it stated how much the medicine costs without insurance and how much my insurance saved me. It was unbelievable. It said the medicine cost $302.99!!!!! Can you believe that!?!?!? Do people really have to pay that?!?!?! I can't imagine! I immediately felt thankful for my little $10 copay. . .but I just can't believe people have to pay that, not to mention they can charge that.

Fish Sticks

Grace didn't want to eat fish sticks. I told her she needed to eat them because fish makes you smart. She smiled, tilted her head and said, "I don't want to be smart." Then she walked away. And I sat there. . .looking at her three fish sticks. Now what. . .

Nothing sounds good for long. . .

First it was cheese. . .you know those red circle baby bell cheeses. . .and then it was tortilla chips and salsa. . .and then it switched to Lays potato chips and onion dip stuff. . .so then I thought I should get healthy so I had some red grapes. Oh yeah, and on the way to work there was a granola bar. I think I'll end the day with a vitamin. . .since my diet wasn't so well rounded.

Oh on a better note, I did cook dinner tonight. Smells are killing me. Everything stinks, like really stinks so I haven't been cooking dinner since I'm repulsed by the food when it is done. . .but tonight I made quiche, crust and all. I put it in the oven as I went to work and didn't even have to smell it.

I also think I'm getting some energy back. I didn't take a nap on Sunday or today. Today I even cleaned a bit. It was pretty bad. Kids are growing out of clothes, toys and dishes were everywhere, and I think every laundry basket I had had clothes that needed to be put away it them. We tackled the too small clothes. . .as I did that Grace stole my coin jar, dumped all the coins everywhere and them her and Obie filled piggy banks and then emptied them. They also took a few of my full laundry baskets and turned them into empty boats. . .and they enjoyed it. I enjoyed hearing Row Row Row Your Boat. . .but I didn't enjoy the mess multiplying. I got the dishes under control, wiped down Obie's highchair that was covered who knows what. Even the back was sticky. How does that happen? I also got the living room and dinning room under control. That makes sitting on the couch so much more relaxing. Anyways, that was my day. Maybe tomorrow will be more exciting. We'll see.

Be Honest. . .what do you think. . .I won't cry.

So a while back I got these pants. . .I haven't ever worn them but these days I'm desperate for clothes. . .and they weren't dirty (like everything else) and they somewhat fit so I wore them. Mike also can't lie. . .like its pretty much impossible for him. . . he is so unconvincing. So I put them on and he says, I like your pants. Later he asked me where I got them. . .which followed with another I like them. I know Mike. I thought he must not like them. . .or maybe he did but he didn't like them on me. . .or there was something else to the pants so I started bugging him. After much nagging he fesses up and says he thinks they looked flashy and stand out. He said he likes flashy shirts more than flashy pants. . .I have another pair of bright green pants he is also unsure of. . .and tries to pretend they aren't so bad. So anyways, I thought the opposite of the pants. I would describe them as conservative and anything but flashy. . .so here is my question. Are the pants bad? Are they flashy? Do they need to be put to death and taken to the Goodwill? Be honest, its OK. They aren't my favorite or anything, I just need and outside opinion. So let me know.

[Michael's addendum: I said I liked them but I needed to get used to them.]

Embarrassing Confessions. . .

So there is all this talk about this new movie. . .Star Trek. My Dad has always been a fan. . .me, not so much. Anyways, with all this talk. . .today I was reminded of something. . .it wasn't until a year or two ago I realized it was Star Trek, NOT Star Trak. I would have bet money on it that it was Star Trak. . .my Dad would be so not proud. But. . .This guy was my favorite. . .I don't know what he does or who he was but I liked his glasses. . .so much that I would pretend to be him by putting a headband over my eyes and walking around. . .what a nerd. . .maybe my Dad would be proud now. . .maybe not. Here is my last embarrassing fact for the night. . .I loved the Neverending Story Princess. She was my favorite. When I wasn't being Star TREK characters I would put a necklace on my head with a little charm thing on my forehead (just like her), then I would recite her lines. "Give me a name Atrau, JUST GIVE ME A NAME." or "This is all that remains of the Neverending Story." (with hands cupped, standing in a dark room, looking very concerned) OK, so I didn't read books, just pretended to be weird character from movies. I think that wraps up my embarrassing moments for now. Enjoy!

Here we go. . .

(These pictures are from last month, but I figured I needed some pictures on here...most of them are on the other computer.)

So we went to Costco to get a few things and ended up having pizza there. Obie was totally insane and Grace was not so interested in eating. As we were getting ready to leave Grace says "I want dessert." I said "Sorry, if you want anything else you need to eat that pizza." She picks it up. . .and I'm thinking Wow, that was easier then I thought. . .and then she holds the pizza up, looks at me and says, "This is going to be disgusting." And then eats it up. All of it. Without complaining. Mike and I just looked at each other and tried not to laugh. When we got in the car she got her lollipop she had snuck into the diaper bag.

I have permission. . .

to tell you this funny story. I left ravioli for Mike to make for the kids. It wasn't ravioli from a can, it was from Trader Joes. . .all you do it boil it. I come home and on the counter is a pot with water soaking inside and the bottom is covered with black. . .like black everywhere. HE BURNED NOODLES in WATER! Like they were soaking in water, boiling and he burned them to the point of sticking to the pan turning it black. . .I found it SO FUNNY! Thats kind of like burning water. . .like I didn't really know it was possible. Then he told me he had done it in a matter of 10 minutes. Ha! SO FUNNY! I'll remember this for awhile. . .I guess its not too bad. . .considering I boiled eggs for 45 minutes. . .I thought they would float when they were done. . .they don't.

Thank you Kara

I am finally getting around to reposting Nokta by Rachid Taha. I really think it is a great song. Rachid Taha is an Algerian musician. Please let me know what you think of it.

Thank you Kara for posting your opinion on my last song by Don Francisco. I am glad you liked it. Thank you also parents.

I might just be. . .

addicted to granola and blueberries in milk. That was my dinner. Oh, and I have a word of wisdom for you. Don't waste your money on fake butter. A while ago I used it all the time, not for the taste but because it spread. I then stopped buying it for some reason. . .well the other day I noticed it was cheaper then butter and bought a huge tub of it. Its AWFUL. Butter is amazing! I love butter!. . .and that other stuff has to go! Please save yourself. Go for butter. . .it really makes everything better.

Pregnancy 3

(I promise . . .this is a pillow. . . I won't be that happy at 40 weeks)

So with this being our third kid, its no longer for sure I'll ever be pregnant again. We have always thought we would probably like 3-4 kids and we are almost in the category. So with that being said I have to admit I haven't always, well I've never been good at documenting my pregnancies. I always had reason to not take pictures. . .in the beginning I just felt fat and like there wasn't anything to see and in the end well. . .I was fat. . .Ha! 50 pounds will do that to you. Last time I didn't take any pictures until 20 weeks. . .So since this might be the last I thought I should document. . .no mater how ugly it might become. . .just so you know, I really don't feel that bad about the how pregnancy body, weight gain thing. . .it happens and will unhappen, but if you have been pregnant before you know that after you have the baby you probably look back and think WOW, I looked like that! (whether it be good or bad) Anyway, I'm going to document. . .hopefully.

Friends. . .

These two love eachother and it is so fun to watch. Here are the two of them watching T.V. yesterday together. Grace said they were friends and needed to sit beside eachother. . .so they did.

So Mother's Day. . .

Everyone seems to be talking about their mother's day, so I guess I will too. It was a good day for the most part, except I was exhausted from being up with Grace and I just wasn't feeling so well. For breakfast we went to the Cheesecake Factory and I had a waffle. . .with strawberries, whipped cream and peacans. Pretty good and then we walked around the mall a bit and then headed home. I took a nap on the couch and the work began. . .for Mike and Grace you see. Grace likes Dora. . .I'm sure you have heard of her. . .so in one episode its Mother's day. Dora has a party for all the moms and makes a cake. There are three ingredients her dad tells her she needs. Bananas, chocolate and nuts. Well, those ingredients were key in Grace's cake. Mike made sure the included all the ingredients and went to work. Above is the finished project. It was pretty yummy too. Everyone enjoyed the cake and we just hung around the house the rest of the day. . .I was pretty out of it but enjoyed my laying around and cake. Grace and Obie also gave me an Elmo card. . .I wonder if this new cake tradition is going to stick or not. . .I don't think I would mind if it did.

Pee Pee Problems. . .

solved. . .and I'm glad I didn't lose it. After Friday night and claiming she had a boo boo every time she peed and refusing to go we decided there must be something wrong. Saturday we took her to the doctor. . .after much begging and pleading I finally got her to pee in a cup and from that we found out the pain was due to a bladder infection. I had to bribe her with a pair of new shoes. . .oh and wait her out for over 30 minutes in the bathroom. . .but it all worked out ok. The antibiotics started kicking in today so the pain is almost gone. . .last night was a ruff night. . .she refused to go potty from 10-2am so she was us squirmy and yelling. Finally, we put her in the tub with warm water which helped the pain. . .and she was able to go in the tub. . .whatever works. . .after that she slept all night. So things are looking better and hopefully tonight will be better.

I Might Just Lose It!

Ok, so let me start at the beginning. Wednesday night Grace was going to bed. Mike, Obie and her were ready book and Grace stands up, pulls up her PJs and pees...right there on the FLOOR! Grace has not had any accidents for the longest time. She always goes on the potty and if for some reason she messes up its because she has waited to long to go. Its been months since and accident. . .and this sure seemed intentional. But since this was totally out of the blue and Mike was in total surprise she took her to the bathroom, delt with the mess and carried on with going to bed. Now yesterday she starts running around saying she needs to go potty. I told her to go (she totally knows how to do it herself). All of a sudden, she stands on the carpet, pulls up her dress, half squats and pees. . .no little pee a huge one. I was so mad. So today, I was putting Obie down for a nap. A I'm coming down the steps I go to pick up Grace and her legs feel a little damp. I then notice the puddle and trail on the steps. I couldn't believe it. I don't know if I should be furious at her and beat her (not really) or if I should not make a big deal about it and go on with my buisiness. Any suggestions, because to be honest I wanted to hurt the little bugger. Sh has also has been refusing to take naps. . .which kills me, because at this point in my life that is all I want. . .onto something a little brighter for today. . .and its not the weather. . .I made the most yummy tea every. Its a nice tall class of peach black tea, over ice and mmmmm so sweet. Its great, maybe it will keep me going and also keep a little child named Grace alive one more day. (Don't worry, I really do love her, but boy does she know how to say exactly what I don't want to hear, do exactly what I don't want her to do and go exactly where I don't want her to go. )

Rain Rain Go Away. . .

Filling up with gas.

Grace and the bucket. First she filled the bike with the bucket, then Obie showed her the hose was faster.
Then picture of Obie pointing is so FUNNY. He was trying to tell me he wanted something he had just thrown into the upside down pool. The mean Mama said no.

Finally a few days without rain. Its been raining almost everyother day. We put down some new grass seed and I figured we should probably water it. I made the mistake of trying to do it when the kids were awake. This was the end result. Grace thought it was so fun to be outside with no clothes on. I had to tell her the police might take her to jail if she tried to go anywhere outside with no clothes on. She remained in her shirt but was concerned for Obie. She asked me a few times "Where's the police?" I know, I know. Probably not the best thing. . .I'll have to come up with a better plan next time.

Can you guess what we had for dessert?

Chocolate pudding, strawberries and whipped cream. . .I think it was a hit!

Bird

POO! Right in my lap! I guess it could have been worse. . .it could have been my head.

Coming Soon. . .

Well, not that soon. . .but we have known since the end of March. We have had two ultrasounds and everything looked great. The first was 1 1/2 weeks ago. At that point we just saw a heartbeat and a little blob, about 1 cm long. Today we had the second. In 1 1/2 weeks things have changed. The little thing was 1.88 cm long and we could see the little arms and legs waving. When we got home we showed Grace. We didn't tell her anything except for "do you want to see the picture of the baby?" She grabbed it, smiled and said "It's a girl." Later we told her it might be a boy. She wasn't happy with that comment so she looked at us sternly and declared "No, its a girl!" I asked her what its name was going to be and she said Pinky. She has known about the baby for awhile now. . . in fact she told her gymnastics teacher that I was at home taking a nap because I had a baby in my belly. Priceless I say, and totally unprompted and straight from her little mouth. So there you have it. Our little secret revealed.

Today I saw a Pick Up Truck. . .

It said two things that made me laugh out loud.

In big bold letters across the back window said, "Vote Democratic, its easier then working."

The second thing was a picture of a big peace sign that said "the footprint of the American chicken." I'll admit it, this one took me a minute to get.

The first one cracked me up. Mike thought it was hilarious too. I'm not making any political statement here, just thought it was funny. I guess this guy either makes friends really fast based on his truck or maybe enemies faster.
