Piggy Bank

Today we cleaned out Grace's piggy bank. A few weeks ago we got her her own savings account. Let me say she and Obie are rich. He doesn't have a piggy bank yet but he does have a savings account. In her piggy bank she had a whopping $65. How did that happen???? She even had a $10 in it. Someone is either being really generous or she had found Mike's cash hidding spot. (She should let me in on the secret. Mike likes to hid cash just incase he might need it, but he woun't tell me where it is since he knows I'll us it. What good is cash if you don't use it???) Some how Obie ended up with the same. . .Then I looked in there bank accounts and noticed both had increased $20.00. (Thanks NaNa & PaPa) So at this point the have both reached the $100 point. Crazy. . .I sure was surprised. . .2 years old, no job, and $100 bucks. . .hmmmmmm. . .

Taking pictures with a two year old and a dog around isn't the easiest thing in the world to do. In fact, I think I failed.
Would you take that thumb out of your mouth?!?!?

Mr. Relaxed
Everytime we put on sunglasses Grace wants to "match" us, so she insists on wearing my glasses. Finally at Target we found these for $2. I think the smile on her face when we all matched made it worth it.

Playing in the Yard

This afternoon we were in the backyard. Obie was laying on a blanket and Grace was playing. Grace asked for some water so I told her "Ok, I'll get you something but you are going to have to watch Obie. Can you babysit?" I was really just kidding. I said this as I was walking inside. As I walked inside I looked out and here is what I saw. . .Grace babysitting.

Tomorrow real black beans. . .

Tomorrow I'll give the real black beans a try. Hard dried black beans. . .much different then the can. I'll also get the pictures off the other camera and post some stuff from our weekend. We went to Grant's Farm and Grace feed the baby goats from a bottle. The only problem was a million other little kids fed the goats from a bottle so by the time we got there we pretty much had to force feed the little guys. The other problem was they liked to eat pink sweaters. . .and Grace was wearing one of those.

I Like Mushrooms

So I cooked mushrooms. I picked something easy. I didn't think I would like mushrooms anyway they were cooked but I did. I sliced them and then put them in a pan with some olive oil. Then I added some garlic, basil and thyme. Cooked them up. Added them to a white sauce and covered our fresh pasta with it. It was great. I even liked the mushrooms by themselves. I could have eatten them all before they even made it to the pasta. Grace wasn't a fan, but Mike and I love them. Now I anxiously wait for a few weeks until we get them again.

Flat. . .yeah right.

When driving, roads seem much flatter. Small steady inclines seem nonexistant. Climbing them takes little to no effort. On a bike, any incline is felt. Slow and steady or unbearably steep. They can all be felt. I found this out while riding my bike to work. I haven't ridden a bike since last spring. . .and I was quickly reminded of this.

FairShare.org

In case you didn't know Michael and I decided to take a chance. We heard about a program to support local farmers. What happens is you pay for a year and every week you get a bunch of stuff from local farmers. The risk was we didn' t know what we were going to get or how much exactly. Anyways we decided to give it a try. Here is what we got. . .

Huge mushrooms (Who know how to cook mushroom???)

Goat Cheese (Which was actually pretty good)

Salsa (Not spicey, but tastey)

Black beans

Pasta

Coffee (Now we need a coffee grinder)

Pork Chops

Lettuce

Weekend Randomness

Here are some random shots from this weekend. Some are of Grace's birthday and some are just hanging out in the yard.

Doctor

Monday is the doctors appointment. Grace has her two year appointment and Obie his four month appointment. I'm not brave enough to take both kiddos by myself so I'm making Mike go with me. I'm sure we aren't going to have happy kids once the appointment is over but I am looking forward to seeing just how big they are. We keep joking that Obie is going to pass up Grace on weight one of these days. . .

Can't forget Obie

Obie had a great time too. . .

5 hour car ride. . .FUN TIMES!

Started off pretty calm.

Fish to pass the time.

Too many M&Ms.

Finally, Finally.

5 hours is a long time for a kid in the car. . .esspecially when all there is to see are flat fields in all directions. Dolls, Dogs, Music, Candy and a Water Bottle seemed to help. Let me just say it was good she was strapped in.

Quick Visits to the Hopson's

Short but sweet. . .we got to spend the night at the Hopson's and spend a morning with them. We had a great time. Sunday was actually Sara's due date. So we had some nice conversation between her speratic contractions. We also thought the park would be a good idea, but that was before we stepped outside into the 30 degree weather. Sophia was born April 16 after timing contractions for days.

Grace & Ella

What a complete day. Grace had a blast playing with Ella, Rachel and Andrew's daughter. We went to a small free zoo to see some animal, watched some Shirley Temple and cleaned up after a hard days play.

Happy Birthday To One Special Guy!

Happy Birthday Papa!

Hi Dad,

Happy Birthday to my favorite dad in the world. I couldn't have gotten a better one. We attempted to wish you happy birthday with a lovely sign Grace decorated. . .but let me say after some tears, screaming and bargining this is what we got. We love you!

Kiddos

Don't ask what Grace was doing. . .she has a mind of her own. . .
Here are some random shots of today and the kiddos. We have a ton more pictures from our time in Chicago but they are on the other camera. . .so until I get that camera figured out here they are. . .

Some Random Shots

Obie and his Daddy.

Family Kisses. . .Grace was already in bed. . .plus if she had been up I don't think we would have been able to get a picute.

Graces favorite place. THE ZOO. She had just gotten done riding the zebra. She waved to everyone as she rode. Then when we got off I asked if I could take her picture. Grace then stood on the hill and clapped her hands, over and over and over.

Finally a day were no shoes were needed.

Grace discovered jello this weekend. Cool treat after a hard days play.

AHHHHHH. . . .YAWN YAWN. . . . time for bed. I just wanted to post these random pictures.
