-New underware for Grace & Obie (I put Grace's underware on Obie the other day because she wasn't listening and thought if I threatened to give them to Obie she would jump at the opportunity to take them. . .well Obie loved the Elmo panties on over his pants, played outside in them and went into the closet the next day to wear them again. . .then cried when I told him they were dirty. Obie got Elmo "underware" from Target just for fun. . .not "panties.")
-Chick-Fil-A for lunch

-New favorite item: Greenpan from Target; nothing sticks AT ALL and they are super easy to use.

Whats the point?

So last night while I was at work I was hungry. There was no food to be found but I found some sodas. All different kinds. Anyways I attempted to make a "good" decision and I choose the Caffeine Free Diet Coke. I decided on that on because I figured I didn't want or need the extra calories and I had already had coffee that morning. . .Then I started thinking about it after I had gulped down the first half. If I'm not drinking it for the sugar and I'm not drinking it for the caffeine benefits why am I really drinking this stuff. Its not like it tastes very good and its not that I'm really thirsty. Really all it is is a can of chemical stuff with nothing good in it. No sugar and no caffeine. It filled me up a little but I suppose water could have done the same thing. . .why would anyone buy that stuff and drink it?!?!? Just so you know I only finished half and then decided I was done with Caffeine free diet Coke.

Almost the beach. . .

Fathers day was spent at the beach. . .well kind of. . .its our beach, also known as a lake. There is sand and water and it makes us feel better calling it a beach. We had a lot of fun. The water was pretty warm and it was a nice, slow relaxing day. Grace was transformed into a mermaid and Obie was exhausted by the end. After the lake trip we were able to refuel at Culver's, one of my Dad's favorite burger place. It was a great last day with the family.

Tap & Ballet. . .

Yesterday was the first dance class ever for Grace. She has taken gymnastics before. She's now old enough for the dance classes so we gave her a choice. . .she choose tap/ballet. She had a blast and we were able to stay and watch. She was the youngest in the class and did pretty well. Obie loved it too. He stomped during the tap section and spun in circles bopping his head to the music. It was hilarious. . .Grace was very excited about her tap and ballet shoes and her new ballet outfit. Above are some pictures of the first class.

All are gone. . .

and we are exhausted. Its alot of work having so much fun. . .everyone left on Monday and we returned to an empty house. Nothing too exciting. Just us. The rest of this week have been spent recooperating. The kids have been taking long naps and I've have a few myself. We are finally starting to get into the swing of things again. Thanks everyone for coming, we had a blast! (the above picture is from when we stopped for breakfast on the way home from NC.)

11 hour drive. . .

begins Thursday at around 3pm. We begin our journey to Burnsville, NC tomorrow. 6 adults, 2 kids, 2 dogs all in a van. . .yahoo! Actually it won't be too bad. . .we have done the drive before. Last time Grace stayed up until 5am. I think she thought the drive was a party or something. Hopefully we won't have two kids up that late. Once we get to NC we will be staying in a house in the mountains and having a little family reunion type thing. I think there should be about 25-30 people. We will return Monday. . .

I went blonde. . .

Well, blonde stripes. As soon as my Dad got off the plane he called me stripes. Gotta love his honesty. Anyways, I explained that I wanted a little lighter streaks that looked nateral. I got blonde, very blonde bold strips, which wasn't what I was looking for. I haven't dyed my hair in years so this whole blond stripy thing was a little much. I felt like one of those tacky, cheap looking ladies. . .you know, the ones who have the poofy hair, tight shorts and low shirts. Basically the want-to-be Californian Chicks. I didn't have the tight shorts and low shirts or the poofy hair. . .it I kept the blonde I might have drifted to the next level. . .maybe thats what happens when you live in Missouri too long. Anyways, I returned the blonde. I returned with my stripes, had some dark brown added, blended it all up and things are looking a little better. I'll give it a few days and see how I feel. I think I make sure I explain myself clearly, very clearly next time. Here are some blondy picutres. If you don't think it looks too bad, know that it looked much blonder and stripyer in real life and if you think it looked bad. . .well it did.

Peek at our Week

Sharing Lucky Charms. . .Jenny had to buy them. . .There are no Lucky Charms in England.

Attempting to get ready in the morning. Grace wasn't making much progress.

Obie is not a fan of princess PJs. He only had it on for a few seconds and lost it. . .He was fine before the PJs.

Jenny and Freddy gave them gummy pigs. . .they loved them.

Obie in the morning. . .with his new bear PaPa gave him.

Here are some pictures of our last week. I just uploaded them so I thought I'd give you a peek.

Happy Birthday. . .

Resting in the Butterfly House.

Inside the Butterfly House.

Surrounded by HUGE Cockroaches.

MIKE! 28 isn't so bad. . .but you know its down hill from here. :) Todays Mike was able to take off work for his birthday. . .the rain changed our plans a little but all worked out great so far. We started off with French Toast at home, then we took Grace back to the doctor to make sure the infection was gone for good, then we went to this new Bistro place in Nordstroms for a late afternoon soup break. I was hungry and currently I am addicted to soup. After that we went to the Butterfly House. None of us had ever been there before and it was amazing. So many more butterflies then we expected. After that we cooled of with SnoCones from Heaven. . .actually they are from a place called SnoBizz but they are so good they could be from heaven. . .now we wait for the BBQ and hopefully we won't be rained out. . .Ribs, mmmmmm. More to come, but that was the beginning of our wonderful Birthday celebration for Mike.
